Icebound is a small family run kennel in Hartlepool. I am married to Steve and have three children. We have been involved with Alaskan Malamutes since 2001 and currently own three. All our dogs are first and foremost much loved family pets.

Our first encounter with Alaskan Malamutes was when we were invited to meet Myra and Keith Butler from KAYTOO kennels in North Yorkshire. After several hours of discussing the good as well as the bad points, we were still happy to go ahead and were placed on their puppy list. In 2001 Chief was welcomed into our family. In 2002 we acquired Cheyanne, also from KAYTOO and she is half sister to Chief.

Three years down the line and we decided to add to the family. In 2005 Lakota came to join us from Marina and Paddy Page of CEDARCREEK kennels in Durham. We feel proud and privileged to own three wonderful Malamutes.

All our Mals are shown at open and champ show level. Chief has gained 40 BOB and numerous group placings, 1 x Reserve Best In Show, 2 x Best In Show and 1 x Reserve Best Puppy In Show at open shows and has been consistently placed at champ show level. Lakota also took Best Junior at the AMCUK club show in May 2007.

Lakota has been worked in harness alongside Chuck (Cedarcreek Delta Force) and their first race was Aviemore in January '08. My thanks to Paddy Page who has spent time training her.
